Tunisia Fires Coach Kbaier Hours After AFCON Exit

Few hours after the elimination of Tunisia from the TotalEnergies AFCON in Cameroon – by Burkina Faso, the Tunisian Football Federation announced the sacking of coach Mondher Kbaier, and immediately appointment Jalel Kadri as the new Carthage Eagles gaffer.

At the end of an aching loss to Burkina Faso, Mondher Kbaier told reporters that he had taken full responsibility for Tunisia’s failure at the AFCON.

‘the players have shown great determination, braving all the difficulties to go to the end of this adventure, but success has not been there in these difficult circumstances,’ Kbaier ended.

The Carthage Eagles returned to Tunisia on Sunday, where they were received by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Kamel Deguiche. He praised the fair performance of the national team, expressing his wish for the side to better their results in the next sporting events and to hoist the national flag high.
