U17 Women’s WC qualifiers: Junior Lionesses put five pass Egypt
Thanks to a hat-trick from Tazanou, as well as goals from Divine Nkoussa and Tiwa Lys, the U17 Lionesses hammered Egypt 5 – 0 on Sunday, January 12th.
Cameroon won without difficulty at the Cairo Stadium in Egypt on Sunday in a match that was part of the first leg of the opening round of qualifiers for the 2025 Morocco World Cup qualifiers.
It was a fine start to the tournament for Cameroon, who are keen to make their presence felt and advance to Morocco next October after their last appearance in the competition in 2018.
The Junior Lionesses are off to a remarkable start, securing an early lead against Egypt which gives a psychological advantage for Joseph Ndoko’s team, as they prepare to host Egypt in Cameroon in a few days.
Team Cameroon is keen to get back on track for the World Cup, especially as the competition is being staged on African soil.
Morocco, the host nation for the of the 2030 Men’s World Cup, equally doubles as the venue for Women’s U-17 World Cup scheduled to take place from 17 October to 8 November 2025.
The Lionesses are determined to be among the 24 countries that will be in the Kingdom of Morocco.
