U20 women’s world cup: Cameroon take 3-goal advantage to Kenya

The U20 Lionesses won 3-0 against Kenya on Sunday evening at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, in the first leg of the third round of qualifying for the U20 World Cup billed for Colombia.

Cameroon did not give the Harambee Starlets any chance in the meeting. Pumped up, the girls of coach Hassan Balla dominated the match, finding the net three times at the first segment.

Annie Felicia Enganemben, in brilliant form during the game, scored a double while Naomi Eto scored the third and last goal of the game.

In the second half and after some tactical readjustments, Kenyan got better offensively.

Coach Odemba’s ladies increased attacks but faced an excellent Cameroonian defense.

Both teams pushed but neither managed to score the 4th goal of the match.

It is therefore with a lead of three that Inès Maague and her teammates will approach the return match in Kenya in a few days.

A lead that they will try to maintain in order to qualify for the next round of the playoffs.
