U23 AFCON Q: Eto’o, Ambina Start As Lions Look To Complete Job Against Angola

The midfield pair of Fidel Brice Ambina and Djawal Kaiba have been given the nod by U23 Lions ‘Tinkerman,’ Guy Fetchine as they look to complete the job against Angola this Sunday, October 30.

Despite a slight tweak of position, Etienne Eto’o equally starts just like last weekend. He will be partnered at the corners by Cameroon’s young player of the year, Patient Wassou (left), and Alioum Moubarak from the right. Eto’o Pineda will be playing in his favorite position just behind the striker.

Hecube steps in as a straight replacement for exiled goalkeeper Mbiandjeu, while Meyapya retains the armband, and plays in the heart of the defense with Keller.

Saidou will run the left flank, Nokoue the right, in a 4-2-3-1 system that will see Kameni play as the out-and-out attacker.

All Cameroon needs to do at the Yaounde Omnisport stadium is to avoid defeat, especially as they poked their noses in front after a 3-2 victory over Angola in Luanda, with Kaiba Djawal and Yvan Djantou *2 getting the goals.

The winner of the game will earn the right to face Gabon in the third round of the qualifiers and then if successful, the U23 Lions will participate in the tourney to take place in Morocco next July.
