U23 AFCON Qualifiers: Guy Feutchine Puts 7-8 Places Up For Grabs

Coach Guy Feutchine has told U23 players pre-selected for home and away games against Gabon, that there are seven to eight slots for players who impress, before a definitive list.

The U23 Lions effectively started camping on Friday in view of the double confrontation against Gabon.

25 players were Summoned to camp, and they 25 all answered the call of coach Guy Armand Feutchine at the CAF center of excellence in Mbankomo.

All the players with the exception of four have been invited before, to camp with different categories of the national team. The coach took the opportunity to remind the players of what is expected of them.

“You’re all here, because we’ve watched you play, and from what we’ve seen, each of you is deserving of your presence on this list. Now you have a week to prove that you can help Cameroon, you have a week to show that you can shake up places in the framework that we already have”, stated the technician.

Guy Armand Feutchine ensured that there will be seven to eight possible places for players who could be part of the adventure. “This adventure which we hope will last till Paris for the Olympic Games, has several stages, the first of which is the double confrontation against Gabon in March”, he reiterated.

Until February 2, the 25 pre-selected players will have two daily training sessions, which will lead to an end-of-training evaluation match, with a team that has not yet been designated, Fecafoot has confirmed.

Cameroon will face Gabon in a double confrontation on March 19 and 27, for a place in the group stage of the U23 AFCON.
