U23 Lions Train On A ‘Potatoes Farm’ In Luanda

The Olympic Lions are in Luanda and are set to take on the Palancas Nerass of Angola in the first of the two legged tie of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, but in poor conditions, as communicated by the team’s media officer, David Eyegue.

Cameroon arrived in the early hours of Thursday, October 19 ahead of the game penciled for
Sunday October 23, 2023.

The team media officer, David Eyegue wrote: ‘After a two-hour wait to pick up our luggages on arrival, the team was forced to leave for their hotel without some items.

‘Jamah Mba, the Team Manager was only able to recover the two coolers and the team’s massage table afterwards. The players’ bags remain untraceable for the moment. Coach Guy Armand FEUTCHINE was only able to obtain a below par training patch not far from the hotel where the delegation is lodged.’ Eyengue ended.

From pictures displayed, the patch could be likened to a ‘potatoes farm’ due to a surface that will aid more in the growth of crops, if used for that purpose.

Team Cameroon is complete after Ambina’s arrival from South Africa, to complete the pack of 27.

Coach Guy Fetchine will continue tutoring the side on Saturday, after a queue of training sessions from Wednesday till date.
