UMS Inflicts First League Defeat On Colombe

UMS of Loum inflicted a first league defeat on early title favorites, Colombe of Dja on match day 7 in group A of the MTN Elite One.

It took a late free kick from Bertin Ngeumaleu to break all the early season invincibility from Anicet Mbarga Foes Colombe.

Prior to the game, Colombe had 14 points from 6 games and comfortably led group A with closest Canon, following with just 9 points.

The game was delicately poised right until the last 10 minutes where it all happened. Ngamaleu’s converted free-kick at the 81st minute followed with a red card for UMS, but Colombe could not make use of the numerical superiority as UMS held on.

UMS are doing just fine. The victory was a second on the spin for coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso and his charges after a 1-0 win against Renaissance on day 5, before the team was on standby on match day 6.

UMS move to 5th in group A, and only 4 points separates them from top of the table Colombe.
