UNIFFAC 2025: Cadet Lions make giant stride towards U17 AFCON
Cameroon are a step towards making successive U17 AFCON finals after a massive victory over Gabon.
The cadet Lions drubbed the Panthers of Gabon 7-1 at the annex Reunification stadium on game day two of the UNIFFAC tournament, a direct qualifiers competition for the AFCON.
Franck Mafany scored a quadruple (four goals) taking his tally up to an impressive seven goals in two matches. Oscar Etoundi, Kolly and Bodoman took part in the offensive festival with goals of their own.
A show of strength by the U17 Lions in two matches. Up next for team Cameroon is Congo, stunned later in the day by the Central African Republic (3-2).
All that is needed from the team on game day three is a draw that will keep them on top of the table in the four-team tourney, and qualify Cameroon for the AFCON.
The biennial tourney is scheduled for Morocco from March 30 to April 19, 2025.
