UNIFFAC U17: 21 Cadet Lions Fail MIR Test, 9 Left In Camp

21 Cadet Lions have failed the MIR test conducted this Thursday, Dec. 29 according to sportsvibes. Names of the youngsters have however not been aired by sportsvibes or the Cameroon Football Federation.

Provision for an MIR was made by the Cameroon Football Federation to do a tests in order to avoid any last minute sledgehammer from organizers of the UNIFFAC competition, billed for January 5 to 12, 2023 in Limbe, Cameroon.

Therefore, only 9 of the players in the list of 30 are left for coach Jean Pierre Fiala. The trainer now has it all to do, to try and build a completely new squad, days before the competition.

Age-limited spot has long been limited by the veracity of birth certificates but MR imaging appears to provide a safe, reliable way of levelling the playing field.

Cameroon are holders of the U17 AFCON, as they won the tourney in 2019 hosted by Tanzania.

The 2021 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations was cancelled, this will be the first edition after the expansion of teams to 12 instead of eight. Each of the six zones received two spots in the final tournament, with just UNIFFAC left to provide her Champions. The tournament finals will be hosted by Algeria from April 8.
