UNIFFAC U17: Chad Disqualified, Three Teams Out Of An Initial 5 Remaining

Even before the kick of a ball, things have fallen apart for two regulars in the UNIFFAC tourney.

The tournament will now be played without Chad who have been disqualified for presenting a player declared ineligible.

Chad presented Ousmane Diallo prior to the game. The latter was declared ineligible by the CAF medical committee after tests at the Laquintinie hospital in Douala.

Thus, the Soa of Chad will no longer play the opening match of the Union of Central African Football Federations (UNIFFAC) Tournament.

It is a blow, but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) had already warned the various federations of the consequences in an event of age cheating.

After the withdrawal of the Democratic Republic of Congo, CAF will organize the UNIFFAC zonal competition for under-17s with just 3 teams in the running.

Congo, who had to play the opener against Chad, is finally exempt from the first match day.

Chad’s disqualification comes after the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) withdrew on Monday.

From now hence, the competition scheduled for January 12 to 18, 2023, in Limbe, will therefore now be played between three nations; Cameroon, the Central African Republic and Congo. The top two teams in the competition will qualify for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations billed for Algeria.
