Volleyball Lionesses: After Fotso, Christelle Nana Retires

After the retirement of Stephanie Fotso on February 16, captain Christelle Nana has followed just 11 days after.

Christelle Tchoudjang Nana said her goodbyes inthe morning of Saturday February 26.

It was on her official Facebook page that she called quit after a successful career. “It is with divided emotions of sadness and accomplishment that I announce my international retirement.” Christelle wrote.

After 14 years with the Volleyball Lionesses, the player reiterated the need to have an after career path. “I have to free up more time for myself in order to rest, devote more time to my loved ones and move forward with my projects. Wearing the Cameroon jersey was an honor and a source of pride for me.” Christelle Tchoudjang opined.

At the age of 32, she represented the national colors at severt major international competitions. With the national team, she participated in the 2014 Women’s Volleyball World Championship in Italy, and at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. With her teammates, she won the gold medal at the 2017 and 2019 African Volleyball Championship. In 2018, she participated in the World Volleyball Championship. The following year, she brought back silver from the African Games.
