Want-Away Hannover 96 Midfeilder Gael Ondoa Set To Leave This Winter

With game time few and far between, Cameroonian international midfielder Gaël Ondoua could leave Hanover 96 as early as this January transfer window.

The Hannover 96 coach announced that he would like to exchange in the next few days with players who “could have found it difficult this season”. But 96 wouldn’t fire anyone, explained Stefan Leitl.

The coach did not name candidates at the start. But it has been clear for weeks that Gaël Ondoua is on the verge of leaving the club. The Cameroonian international who played two matches at the World Cup in Qatar, is unhappy with the bench and role with the “Reds”.

And the chances that the 27-year-old will play a major role for the club in the future is slim.

“It will be difficult for Gaël. If he wants to change and a club comes along, we won’t put any obstacles in his way,” Leitl said.

It is therefore quite possible that Gaël Ondoua will no longer be at Hannover 96 at the start of the second half of the season on January 28 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
