WCQ: Morocco Gaslights Congo To Make 6th Tourney Appearance

Hanging in the balance on the first leg (1-1) on Friday, Morocco did the trick, on Tuesday via a 4-1 margin, against the Democratic Republic of Congo to win their ticket for the 2022 World Cup.

Azzedine Ounahi, the SCO midfielder notably scored a brace, at the 21st, 54th minutes.

Tarik Tissoudali increased the tally at the 45+7 minute, before another goal from Achraf Hakimi in the second period (69) sent the Moroccans to the glory land of Qatar. Ben Malango’s goal at the 77th minute was nothing more than a consolation. 5-2 on aggregate it ended.

It became the 6th time Morocco qualified for the tourney, while denying DR Congo what would have been their 2nd ever qualification to the World Cup after 1974.
