WCQ: Queiroz Leaves Out Mohamed Sherif In List To Pit Senegal

coach Carlos Queiroz has made some huge calls as he unveiled a list of 23 players to pit Senegal in the play-offs of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on March 25 and 29.

The Pharaohs will be without Ahmed Hegazy and Akram Tawfik, who are both out injured.

Ramadan Sobhi and Mohamed Hany, expected by many on the list, are also left out owing to injury.

Coach Queiroz has brought in central defender Yasser Ibrahim from Al Ahly, and Omar Gaber of Pyramids FC. The latter returns for the first time since Queiroz took charge, with his last match having come under Hossam El Badry last year.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Magdy Afsha also makes his return to the Egyptian squad after surprisingly missing out on the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Mohamed Sherif surprisingly doesn’t make the cut even after a descent spell with Ahly in this season’s champions league, scoring three group stage goals. and Tarek Hamed failed to make the roster.
