WCQ: Sadio Mane Headline Cisse’s 26-Man List For Egypt Rumble

Senegal coach Aliou Cisse has called up 26 players for the double confrontation against Egypt, for the qualifying play-offs of the 2022 World Cup.

Aliou Cisse unveiled his list of 26 players selected for the next camp on Friday, March 18.

This is the latter’s first list post the AFCON triumph in 2022. Making a comeback in the list is Real Betis defender Youssouf Sabaly.

AFCON winners Ibrahima Mbaye and Joseph Lopy didn’t make the cut. For the rest of he team, Cisse has opted to go with continuity with the likes of; Sadio Mane, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Gana Gueye and Ismaïla Sarr all present.

Senegal, champions on the continent, will challenge the Pharaohs of Egypt in Cairo next Friday. The return match will be played on March 29 at the Abdoulaye-Wade stadium in Diamniadio.
