WCQ: Tunisia Joins Africa’s 5 Ambassadors Without Scoring

The Carthage Eagles achieved the bare minimum on home soil on Tuesday evening – at the Olympic stadium in Rades, via a draw (0-0) to dismiss Mali and pick one of five World Cup slots.

The Tunisians didn’t score a single goal during the playoffs since in the first leg, but who cares anyway?

An unfortunate Sissako who scored an own goal, causing Mali’s dismissal.

On March 25, the show had not been famous. Four days later, it was not glorious for Mali.

But for Abdoulaye Diaby’s goal scored in the fourth minute of play, disallowed for an offside, the visitors lacked luck, application and finishing.

And faced with a Tunisian block , the Mali’s will alone was not enough. On the other hand, the fervent public who came in their number in Rades, were not have been rewarded with a goal from their team.

However, they left satisfied with the ticket for the World Cup.

After 1978, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2018, Tunisia qualified for the famous sixth World Cup in its history. They’ve never crossed the group stage, though. This time, they’d try to do better and fly a little higher to, why not, write a new glorious page in their history.

Tunisia will be keen on discovering their opponents during the draw for the 2022 World Cup scheduled for Friday April 1, from 6 p.m.
