Women’s WC U17 Q: Zambia No Match For Baby Lionesses In Nkoloma

Zambia was held to a disadvantaged score as Cameroon scored twice in the second half to take the advantage to Cameroon.

Zambia under-17 women’s national football team lost 0-2 to their Cameroonian counterparts on Friday afternoon.

The third round qualifying match of the 2022 Fifa Women’s World Cup took place at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

Mana Lamine and Camila Daha scored for Cameroon in the second half of the first-leg match.

The first half of the match had ended goalless before the visitors showed their intent.

Lamine put the visitors in the lead with a 48th minute close range finish.

Zambia threatened had their chances but only came back to rue them as Elizabeth Mwale fired off target when presented with a 63rd minute chance.

The response was instant for Cameroon who doubled the advantage through Daha five minutes later.

Now Zambia have a mountain to climb going into the second leg in Cameroon.

The Zambia did not play in the first and second rounds as their opponents Namibia and Eritrea chicked out.

The overall winner of the two legs date either Burundi or Tanzania in the fourth qualifying round.
