Yan Eteki Carries Casa To Last 8 Of The Portuguese Cup

Indomitable Lions midfeilder Yan Eteki made history as he scored the lone goal in Casa Pia’s cup win against Victoria.

Casa Pia AC made history by qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup for the first time, after beating Vitória FC 1-0 at home in the round of 16 match tie.

An early goal from midfielder Eteki in the 3rd minute was enough for the Geese to celebrate yet another milestone in the path of the club. In the next round Eteki and co will face Nacional de Madeira.

Casa Pia entered the game to win, however they lost steam after the goal, while Vitória FC began to press between the lines, forcing the Casa Pia’s defense to concentrate more, with the protagonist, being goalkeeper Ricardo Batista.

The game became slow, with many ball clearances and few goal opportunities.

In the second half of the match, Casa Pia AC again demonstrated that it is one of the Portuguese teams in terms of defending.

Tackles came in flying, which caused referee António Nobre to show several yellows.

Filipe Martins joined Rafael Martins and Carnejy Antoine to try to increase the one goal advantage. However, the Sadinos made the task difficult.

In the next round, two historic teams will meet to play in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup – as Casapia will battle it out against Nacional.
