Zimbabwe 1-2 Malawi: Flames Have Last Laugh In Seesaw Game

Mhango’s double was good enough leverage for Malawi, who came from behind to deafeat Zimbabwe (2-1) in Bafoussam.

As per this result, the flames  take 3rd place in the group, only 1 point behind Senegal and Guinea, who had neutralized each other earlier in the afternoon.

From the onset, Malawi showed good intentions, managing to muscle the opposing defense.

The Flames even conjured up  a first chance on a free kick from Mangho, checked  by Mhari.

  Zimbabwe then hit top gear,  and  establishing her its dominance, creating beautiful offensive displays.

The Warriors domination  finally materialized, with a goal from Wadi, who placed a magnificent lobed header from Wadi, for an opener at the 39th minute.

The  joy is however short-lived for Zimbabwe, since a few minutes later, Mhango struck past Mhari with a low shot, allowing Malawi to come back to level terms, two minutes before the end of the first half.

  After the break, the Warriors returned with better intentions, but against the run of play, Mhango, again, gave Malawi the advantage, two minutes to the hour mark.

Malawi held  on for an important victory, that sees them go second in group B, one point behind Guinea and Senegal.
