Zimbabwe Sach Coach Zdravko Logarusis

Football fans in Zimbabwe had mixed feelings yesterday after the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board finally agreed to fire national team coach Zdravko ‘Loga’ Logarusic.

A national football association statement said “it would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation at large that it has amicably parted ways with senior team coach Zdravko Logarusic”.

This comes after the Warriors lost their latest match, 1-0 to Ethiopia, which saw frustrated Zimbabweans calling on ZIFA to sack Loga.

Due to poor results in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying games, the Warriors now lie at the bottom of Group G with only one point from 2 games played. They are the only team in the group without a win.

Since his appointment in February last year, Logarusic has only managed one win in fourteen games he took charge of.

Zimbabwe play Ghana twice in October and South Africa and Ethiopia the following month in other World Cup qualifiers.

They then prepare for the delayed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations from 9 January in Cameroon, facing Senegal, Guinea and Malawi in group B.
