SWR Mini Interpools: Keugoue’s Extra Time Striker Sends Kumba City To the Semis.

Kumba City have qualified for the Semifinals of the South West Regional Mini Interpools after coming from one goal down to defeat Buea United 2-1 at Extra time.

Keugoue scored the winner at stoppage time of extra time to send the Kumba Base side to the Semi finals.

Buea United took an an early lead in the first half through Festus Kingsley but was cancelled out by Abena 10 minutes to full time.

Buea United goalkeeper Jingo Nkemkcha received a second yellow as Buea United was reduced to 10 men.

Kumba City FC finished top of their Pool for the second season running and will be hoping for a mini inter-pool final spot after finishing at the semis last term.

Buea United took an an early lead in the first half through Festus Kingsley but was cancelled out by Abena 10 minutes to full time.

Buea United qualified for the competition after Fako United who had initially qualified we’re guilty of age fraud and that gave coach Agbor Emmanuel and his men a chance to leapfrog over the Njoku boys to finish second in Pool C. The Mountain Boys are making a comeback into the competition after missing out last season.

The game began with both teams being cautious but Buea United dominate possession in the first minutes of the game.

Fostus Kingsley and Bryan Femuh had a chance to open the score from a loose ball but the offside flag was raised.

Buea United continue to mount pressure as Festus Kingsley scored his sixth goal to put the Mountain Boys in front at the 19th minute.

Coach Agbor Emmanuel was to make an early substitute after Motia Bassey sustained an injury midway through the first half and was replaced by Boris Bessong.

Kumba City trying to mount pressure on the Mountain Boys but finding the spaces has been a problem.

Kumba City had a penalty shout – protesting that the shot from David Tanyam had touched the hand of Collins Luma.

Collins Luma of Buea United received the first yellow card of the game after committing a foul on a Kumba City player.

Kumba City continue to search for an equalizer but Abena Jordan and Rene Kwi missed their chances as it ended 1-0 to the Mountain boys at halftime.

Kumba City makes substitution in the second as William Joslin replaces Motassi Emmanuel as coach Roland Tchakem looks to strengthen his backline.

Pressure mounts on Buea United but the defence line of Coach Agbor Emmanuel is up to the task.

Victory Praise had a chance to level scores but the agility of the Buea United goalkeeper prevented the effort from materializing.

Beautiful inter passing football between Briyan Femuh and Boris Bessong of Buea United, but the final cross from Boris wasn’t accurate enough to cause damage to the Kumba City defense.

Poor defense on the part of Buea United as Victory Praise almost got the equaliser for the Kumba base side but the Buea United goalkeeper was there to keep his clean sheet in tact.

William Ayong missed a good chance to equalise for Kumba City as his header goes wide.

Coach Roland Tchakam’s tactical substitutions paid off as he brought in Daniel Mboh, Junior Albe and Fabrise Mulan to beef up his attack. It didn’t take long for the substitutes to impact the game as Abena Jordan scored the equaliser for Kumba City at the 80th minute. This is Abena’s sixth goal of the season.

Kumba City almost took the lead for the first time in the game but the shot of William Ayong went wide.

Coach Alabas went in for the veteran striker Ngalame Clovis to add experience to his attack.

Both teams could not get the winner as the game goes to extra time.

Buea United had the first chance in extra time but Ngalame Clovis’ shot was deflected.

Kougoue had the best chance in extra time after his shot hit the cross bar mid way to the first half of extra time.

Kumba City had another chance to take the lead after William Joslin couldn’t capitalize on the cross of Nsop Steve.

Kumba City still continue to dominate the possession as
William Ayong’s goal was ruled out for offside.

Buea United reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Jingo Nkemtcha received a second yellow after committing a foul on William Ayong. Noel Austin was sacrifice as second goalkeeper Emmanuel Mbang was brought in.

The resulting effect of the foul led to a goal as Keugoue to give Kumba City the lead for the first time in the game.
