Fatshi cup U20: Participating teams to leave with gargantuan bonuses
The much talked about and hyped Fatshi U20 cup is upon us as four teams in the Central African zone are ready to take-off from July 1st.
For starters, the tournament is aimed at augmenting quality in youth set-ups around the CEMAC zone, and it comes at a good value, with the francophonie games at the corner.
All participating teams will bag home a whopping sum of 20,000 dollars, equivalent to 11 million in francs CFA.
Asides the teams’ participation bonuses, there are additional bucks for selections that will hit the penultimate stages; or get ranked from the winner to third seed.
Tournament winners will add another 40,000 dollars to the initial 20,000 earmarked as the participation bonus. Second and third placed runners-up will scoop home 20,000 and 10,000 dollars respectively.
Five teams had an early shout to participate in the tournament, but Cameroon pulled out at the last minute, due to reasons unknown by the organizers.
The organizers equally took charge of the lodging and air tickets of all the four delegations; 20 players and 5 members of staff.
Three teams joined DR Congo having arrived Kinshasa successfully, with rip-roaring action set to begin on Saturday, July 1.
Congo pits CAR at the Stade de Martyrs, while Gabon log horns with tournament hosts DR Congo, still on the same venue on Saturday.
