2023 AFCON: Indomitable Lions paired against Senegal in repeat of 2002 & 2017 finals
Excitement ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals is now slowly building considering the fact that top teams know who they’re battling against for glory.
Cameroon are housed in group C of the 2023 TotalEnergies AFCON draw, in what will be a repeat of the 2002 and 2017 AFCON finals, against Senegal.
Other teams in group C include Guinea and the Gambia, who ended beaten quarter finalists in the 2021 AFCON after a 2-0 defeat against Cameroon.
West African powerhouse Nigeria, reigning African champions Senegal, historic 2022 World Cup semi-finalists Morocco and hosts Ivory Coast all have sights set for the biennial competition, to begin on from 13 January until 11 February 2024.
Hosts Cote D’Ivoire will face stiff competition from 2013 AFCON winners Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau in group A.

Morocco, who returned from the 2022 FIFA world cup as the fourth best in the world, will like to push her ascendancy in the African continent. They will pit Zambia, Tanzania and DR Congo.
The opening game will see Cote D’Ivoire take on Guinea Bissau at the Stade Ebimpe on January 11.
