Cameroon to Face Côté D’ivoire in October Friendly

The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has officially confirmed that Côte d’Ivoire will  host Cameroon on Saturday, October 3, during the upcoming FIFA international window.

The showdown will take place at the iconic Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Ebimpé, Abidjan, with kickoff scheduled for 19:00 GMT.

A Classic West vs. Central African Rivalry

Whenever the Indomitable Lions and the Elephants meet, sparks fly. This encounter marks the latest chapter in a long-standing rivalry between two of Africa’s top footballing nations.

Both sides recently battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw during the group stages of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, leaving tactical unsettled business on the pitch. While October’s match carries no tournament points, pride, regional bragging rights, and  FIFA ranking points will all be on the line.

For Cameroon, the trip to Abidjan offers a stern test on foreign soil against elite opposition. Facing the reigning continental powerhouses in their own backyard provides the technical staff an invaluable opportunity to:

  • Fine-tune tactical combinations ahead of upcoming competitive qualifiers.
  • Test squad depth against top-tier European-based talent.
  • Build momentum and defensive cohesion in a hostile, electric atmosphere.

The Fortress of Ebimpé

The venue choice adds even more color to the fixture. The 60,000-seat stadium in Ebimpé has grown into a fortress for Ivorian football. Known for its deafening atmosphere and passionate home support, the Lions will need to display their trademark “Grinta” and resilience to tame the Elephants on home turf.

With both managers expected to field strong line-ups featuring stars from Europe’s top leagues, football fans across the continent can expect a tactical, high-intensity battle come October 3.
