Elite: Colombe pick maximum points from one-down against Les Astres
Les Astres Football club of Douala led but bottled a one goal lead, as Colombe fought from a goal down to win 2-1, on game day 5, at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium – on Sunday, October 22.
“The Brazilians of Bepanda” took the lead through marksman Jules Armand Kooh from the spot, one minute after the half hour mark: his fourth of the season.
However, the men of coach Agbor Ernest could not replicate the unerring game day four performance where they stunned Canon via a 2-1 margin.
In the second half, Colombe rallied to get two goals which completely turned the game on its head.
A goal at the 55th minute from Maxime Pascal Eze started the comeback, which was later finished with a win at the 62nd minute.
Gabriel Mballa was the hero of the hour as he expertly finished two minutes after the hour mark to win maximum points for Colombe.
It was the first time in 5 games that Colombe grabbed all three points. The team’s tally moves to 5 in group A, with 5 points recorded so far.
Only 5 points separate 8th placed Colombe from group leaders Dynamo, who are currently on 10 points, after a game day 5 defeat to Bamboutos FC.
