Vincent Aboubakar Hospitalized in Turkey
Turkish club Besiktas have announced that indomitable Lions skipper, Vincent Aboubakar, was hospitalised following abdominal pain and a high fever that he experienced after training on Saturday.
The Indomitable Lions center-forward spent the night at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital in Istanbul. The diagnostic and treatment procedure to determine the exact cause of his symptoms is currently underway.
The Garoua-native, who already had a successful first stint at Besiktas between 2016 and 2021 (35 goals in 67 matches), returned last winter to defend the colors of the Black Eagles.
Despite comebacks in football often being a failure than a success, Aboubakar is back for prolly more goals.
The second part of last season, he hammered in 11 goals in 16 games. This season, the 31-year-old has already scored 4 goals in 9 league matches, even if the Black and Whites are only in 5th place in the standings (out of 20 teams), albeit a game in hand.
Vincent Aboubakar is an essential link in the offensive sector of the Indomitable Lions (98 caps and 37 goals since 2010). At the moment, the diagnosis is pending so no one is able to predict how long the former Porto player will be unavailable for.
But with the AFCON set to begin in 2 and a half months months, coach Rigobert Song must have been worried when he heard the news.
