‘We Want To Re – Write History,’ USD Rearguard – Che Malone
Che Malone led the back – line alongside Axel Ndzana in USD’s 2-0 quarter final victory against AS Dibamba in the Cameroon Cup on Sunday July 4.
The 22-year-old lad was sensational in the game as indeed he has been since making his full debut for Union on October 24, 2019, against TKC.
Talking to sportsglitz.net after the game, the versatile defender voiced: ‘I am elated. We just won and went through!’ let’s adrenaline rush, before adding (editor’s pick) ; ‘It is an honor for me to play with USD right up to the semis because it has been 15 years that they haven’t played to this stage. We want to re – write history,’ the former National Polytechnic defender – ended.
Che Malone marshalled the 6 time winners of the Cameroon Cup to their second consecutive cleen sheet in the Cameroon Cup this term, after their 1-0 victory over FOVU in the round of 16’s.
The latter is well ahead the ranks in player of the season contention that wouldn’t see as many USD players listed, for obvious poor league performances.
Games played in the Cameroon Cup: 4; Union 2-1 Bafmeng united
Union 1-1 panthere( 4-3 penalties)
Union 1-0 fovu
Union 2-0 AS Dibamba
Total of 360 minutes played in the competition for the lad.
Union Sportive of Douala entire seem to have an opening, they are willing to collectively break through, in the Cup of Cameroon. The Nasara Gamakai meanwhile are sweating volumes in the Elite One Championship that resumes for them on Thursday, against Djiko FC.
