CAF Confed. Cup:Bassem Srarfi’s double propells Club Africain to win over Academica

Club Africain continues its faultless run in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederations Cup. The Tunisian side won 3-1 against Academica do Lobito on Sunday.

A double from Bassem Srarfi in the 46th and 75th minute and a goal from Hamdi Labidi in the 53rd minute were enough to overcome the Angolans, who reduced the score on the hour mark through Samuel Cachimbombo.

Stade Malien fell at home to RS Berkane 2-1. The Moroccans continued their flawless performance before hosting Diable Noir of Brazzaville on December 10. Author of a double in the 30th and 37th minute, Paul Bassene stood out brilliantly during this match, despite Mamadou Traoré’s reduction in the score in the 71st.

The West African duel between the Ghanaians of Dreams FC and the Nigerians of Rivers United kept all its promises, since the two teams offered a very entertaining match.

After their crushing 2-0 away defeat against Club Africain last weekend, Dreams FC were under pressure to achieve a satisfactory result that will keep them alive. Unlike United who were full of confidence, after crushing Academica do Lobito 3-0.

A goal from John Antwi in the 35th minute and another from Abdul Issah in the 74th minute were enough to overcome the Nigerians despite Alex Oyowah reducing the score.

In the last meeting of Group A, Modern Future fought 2-1 against Al Hilal Benghazi. A victory which allows them to return to the level of USM Alger.

This dramatic match, which saw Ali El Fil receive a red card in the 70th minute, had all the ingredients of a classic African football encounter.

Al Hilal took the lead in the 3rd minute through Jaefar Adrees, but after returning from the locker room, the Egyptians equalized in the 65th minute through Marwan Mohsen. As the match headed for a draw, Kajally Drammeh scored the winning goal for the Egyptians, who won 2-1 and remained undefeated.
