CAF CL: ASEC through as group B winners after goalless tie against Simba

ASEC Mimosas qualified for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League on Friday evening at the Stade Félix-Houphouët-Boigny, after a goalless draw against Simba SC.

The Ivorians are in the quarter-finals after a goalless draw this against Tanzania’s Simba on game day 5 of the CAF champions league.

This result helps ASEC secure a top position in Group B with 11 points, ahead of Simba (6) and Jwaneng Galaxy (4) with Wydad (3) following as last.

The 29-time Cote D’Ivoire premier division winners are hoping to add another winners medal to that of 1998 which seems a very long time ago.

The last time ASEC Mimosas reached the knockout phase as leaders of its group was in 2006.
