Elite One: The END draws closer for Fovu & Avion
After rollercoaster spells in cameroon’s top-flight, Fovu club of Baham and Avion Academy of Nkam have just the tiniest possibility of hope to survive in the playoffs “down” championship.
After the coronation of Victoria United, the battle to be maintained is still in full swing. At the end of the 9th playing day, the ranking remains very tight.
As Fortuna are the only club to have ensured its maintenance so far. Fortuna’s defeat against Public Work Department (PWD) has no effect on its future. That is not the case for Avion Academy and Fovu club in Baham. Both are in a bad position.
At this stage of the competition, Avion Academy and Fovu have the obligation to win their last two matches. In reality, they no longer have their destiny in their hands. In the event of a draw or defeat on the next game day, they will be officially be relegated to Elite Two.
Beaten by Apejes de Mfou on game day 8, Fovu lost against Astres the following match day.
These two clubs are mathematically still in the race for maintenance. The 10th day will be decisive.
