PWD acquire top-talent Ekoi Jonas from Les Astres

Flying Cameroon U23 winger, Ekoi Jonas Lyonga has completed a 2-year deal on the books 2020 Elite 1 champions, PWD of Bamenda.

The 23-year-old completes the switch from Les Astres Football club after three seasons in Douala.

A Best Stars Academy graduate, Jonas showed cameos of what an incredible potential he could be back in 2022 with his 7-goals contribution – which led to a call-up in Cameroon’s U23 AFCON qualifiers game against Gabon, by coach Guy Fetchine.

Already training with the Abakwa Boys, Jonas has reportedly received positive feedbacks from fans and some members of the technical staff.

A fast lad who can play at either side of the wings, Lyonga adds to the attacking velocity of PWD that was somewhat tame last season with little creativity from the sides.

For starters, Ekoi Jonas was voted South West regional league Best player in 2021, a personal accolade that earned him a move to Cameron’s top-flight.

The winger has now come of age, and where else to continue his growth, other than PWD, a club known for bringing the best out of talented footballers.

PWD has entered top gear as they to intensify preparations for the upcoming season.
