Ngale Toko: ANAFOOT’s trailblazing goalie making headway!

Goal-guard Alberto Toko Ngale was voted Goalkeeper of the tournament at the celebrated Easter Cup hosted in Douala, Cameroon.

For starters, the Easter Cup is the biggest youth competition in Cameroon, and prides as the competition that produced names like; Lamkel Ze, Carlos Baleba, Regis Mughe and Ignatius Ganago among others.

Representing the National Football Academy (ANAFOOT), Ngale was kept his place between the sticks (5 games) from start to the end of the competition.

ANAFOOT conceded the least number of goals in the competition, and stunned hosts Ecole de Foot on game day one, but went on to lose 1-0 in the final courtesy a Fi Akamba strike.

The ANAFOOT lads led by experienced gaffer Nlend Aymé built their game from solidity at the back, with a certain Ngale Toko protecting the last line of defense.

Barely known to tournament regulars prior, the shot – stopper made a name for himself and with some special moments.

Scouts across the continent who came to follow the competition, in search of the next “big prospect” were in awe.

At such a young age, Ngale showed grit and played the game with such maturity, that had everyone admiring.

Up next for the keeper will be a crucial choice of where to continue his development – after he graduating from ANAFOOT. Different French and Belgian clubs have initiated contact.
