Mauritian Alexandre Mayer claims top spot, Clovis Kamzong Abossolo Takes Bronze in 25th Grand Prix International Chantal Biya
The 25th edition of the Grand Prix Cycliste International Chantal Biya came to a close on Sunday, September 14, 2025, with Mauritian rider Alexandre Mayer emerging victorious.
Mayer won the 5th and final stage, as well as the final general classification, with a time of 14h 51min 26s. This impressive performance solidified his position as a top cyclist in the competition.

Cameroon’s Performance
Cameroon had a notable performance in the competition, with Clovis Kamzong Abossolo, captain of SNH Vélo Club, finishing third in the individual general classification. Abossolo completed the race with a total time of 14h 54min 15s, a significant improvement from his 12th-place finish in the 2024 edition. This achievement is a testament to his skills and experience, having previously won the Grand Prix Chantal Biya in 2017 and securing multiple wins in the Tour du Cameroun.
Stage Wins and Team Performance
Abossolo’s impressive performance was not limited to the final stage. He had already made his mark on the competition by winning the third stage, a 166 km ride between Yaoundé and Nkolandom, ahead of Gabin Vedel and Alexandre Mayer. This stage win showcased Abossolo’s strength and endurance as a cyclist.

International Chantal Biya featured nine teams from Africa and Europe, with Cameroon represented by three teams: the national team, SNH Vélo Club, and the Mboa national Hope team. Over the course of five stages, the cyclists covered a total distance of 625.5 kilometers, providing spectators with thrilling and suspenseful racing action.
