Chido Mitterand Donates Istanbul FA Kits Ahead of Njalla Quan Sports Academy Showdown

Renowned football promoter and North West 7-aside football president, Chido Mitterand, has  supported Istanbul Football Club Academy with jerseys for their upcoming game against Njalla Quan Sports Academy (NQSA)  on December 12th.

Istanbul FA C.E.O, Atemnkeng Elvis Fobellah posted snippets of the jersey release on Friday as social media went agog.

This act of generosity comes as IFAB prepares to face off in a special exhibition game against Njalla Quan Sports Academy to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

A Match of Celebration and Charity

The exhibition game, which pits an NQSA team featuring top past talents and former internationals against IFAB, is slated for 3:30 pm at the Njalla Quan center in Man O war bay. It is the crowning event of a week-long “Walk for Life” celebration that begins on Sunday, December 7th, focused on a test walk, visits, and essential donations to the sick and vulnerable.

Chido Mitterand’s donation of the Istanbul Football Club Academy kits provides a touch of international flair to this  celebration, underscoring the universal connection of the beautiful game. It is a material expression of appreciation for NQSA’s two and a half decades of dedication to nurturing young talents.

Chido Mitterand: A Promoter with a Vision

Chido Mitterand is no stranger to fostering excellence in football. His name is strongly associated with the historic 2023/24 season of Yong Sports Academy (YOSA). Leading the club’s administration, Mitterand guided YOSA to their greatest run in the top flight, coming agonizingly close to clinching the Elite One title.

The foundation laid during his tenure has since propelled several players to remarkable heights, testifying to the quality of the team he helped build:

  • Nchindo John Bosco, who has since emerged as the 2024 ballon d’Or winner and earned a national team call up.
  • Patrick Handzongo, later secured a move to Ararat Yerevan.
  • Hamza Hamidou, went on  to become a CAF Champions League campaigner with Colombe, among others.

This history of elevating talent makes his appreciation for Njalla Quan’s enduring mission all the more significant.

Chido Mitterand himself donned the jersey of Njalla Quan sports Academy during his playing days and could well be present on December 12.

The Njalla Quan Sports Academy through it’s Chief Executive Officer, Henry Njalla Quan is channelling resources towards the growth of sports in general, not just football.
