Former PFL Executive Loren Mack Targets Cameroon as BKB Eyes African Expansion
Former Professional Fighters League (PFL) executive Loren Mack has wasted little time outlining his ambitions after joining BKB: Bare Knuckle Boxing, identifying Cameroon as one of the key African markets the promotion intends to develop as part of its next phase of global expansion.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, confirmed Mack’s appointment as BKB’s Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Strategy, ending a successful spell with the PFL where he played a central role in the organization’s international growth.
For Cameroon, however, the significance of the appointment extends beyond a routine executive reshuffle.
In remarks accompanying his unveiling, Mack singled out Cameroon as a country rich in combat sports talent, saying BKB intends to establish a stronger presence while creating opportunities for local fighters to compete on the global stage.
“Global expansion isn’t just about reaching new markets—it’s about creating meaningful opportunities,” Mack said. “Cameroon is a great example of the incredible talent emerging from Africa, producing elite fighters and world champions who have competed at the highest levels of combat sports. We believe there’s a deep pool of fighters ready for the global stage, and BKB is committed to discovering new stars, building our roster, and expanding our presence in Cameroon and throughout the continent.”
The comments will be welcomed in a country that has consistently produced internationally respected combat sports athletes across boxing, mixed martial arts and kickboxing. Yet despite that pedigree, many Cameroonian fighters have often had to leave home in search of opportunities abroad.
Mack’s arrival at BKB could therefore represent more than an executive appointment. It signals that one of combat sports’ fastest-growing promotions is beginning to look seriously at Africa as a source of both talent and future commercial growth.
His résumé suggests he is well placed to lead that mission.
Over two decades, Mack has held senior leadership roles across some of the biggest names in combat sports. Before joining BKB, he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at the PFL, helping shape the organization’s international expansion through marketing, media rights, commercial partnerships, investor relations and business strategy.
Earlier executive roles with ONE Championship and the UFC also saw him contribute to the growth of global combat sports brands across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa.
At BKB, Mack will oversee the company’s global marketing strategy, audience growth, broadcast promotion, content development and sponsorship initiatives, while also contributing to the organization’s long-term corporate strategy.
His appointment comes as BKB seeks to build on rapid international growth under Chief Executive Officer David Tetreault and founder Mike Vazquez.
Welcoming the new executive, Tetreault described Mack as an experienced sports industry leader capable of helping elevate the promotion to another level.
“Loren brings a rare combination of strategic vision, marketing expertise, commercial leadership and deep industry relationships developed over more than two decades in sports,” Tetreault said.
Founded in 2015, BKB has grown into one of the world’s leading bare-knuckle boxing organizations, staging events in the United States, the United Kingdom and other international markets while expanding its broadcast reach through partners including VICE TV, talkSPORT and Telemundo.
If Mack’s vision materializes, Cameroon could soon become an important part of that expansion, offering another international platform for the country’s next generation of combat sports talent.
