Bepanda Fair Play Tourney: Bamboutos, AS Fortuna To Raise The Curtain

The third edition of the Bepanda Fair Play tourney is set to commence tomorrow Nov. 8 with a breathtaking game pitting Bamboutos FC against AS Fortuna.

Speaking to sportsglitz.net, tourney – promoter Souleymanou says the third edition is going to be much different from the last two, with different dynamics coming into place.

The last two editions have been hyper successful, catching the eyes hundreds of fans in the town of Douala

The day is set to begin with Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe against Esos United Academy from the center, at the CICAM Stadium. These two teams are not part of the tournament but they’ve been brought in just to garnish the competition. They start the ceremony from 1 pm.

For the competition proper, last year’s finalists – Bamboutos will face Elite One foes AS Fortuna.

Bamboutos FC finished 4th in group A of the Elite One log last term, while AS Fortuna played the title playoffs.

Of the 30 teams that will take part in the tournament, two are from Chad and Gabon. Foullah Edifice comes in from Chad, while AS Bethel comes through all the way from Gabon.

It is worth note that dozens of footballers used this tournament last time as a perfect springboard.

This year’s Elite 1 golden boot winner Kemajou Dibami was top goal scorer of the last edition, while Gerard Moubarak, who ended player of the tournament, won a spot in the intermediate Lions camp, and later won a bumper deal in Tanzania.

The Bepanda Fair Play tournament will last for two weeks, as 29 teams will look to dethrone Donlap Academy from the seat of champions.
