Olivier Boumal In Superlative Form At Newcastle

Indomitable Lions forward Olivier Boumal has continued his scintillating start of life in Australia, where he was acquired by Newcastle Jets in the summer.

The winger played an entire duration for the Jets (90) away to Sydney FC on match day 3, of the Australian A-League.

Prior to the game, the Douala native had played Central Coast (64) and Western Sydney (77) but, due to his speed in adapting, coach Arthur Papas, gave him 90 minutes of the ball game against Sydney FC.

Boumal was a handful for the Sydney defense and indeed, had cameos that wowed onlookers; cutting in from the left wing, and putting Sydney FC defenders – Grant and Wilkinson under pressure.

The game ended 2 – all. Home side, Sydney FC took the lead at the 9th minute courtesy their English striker, Adam Le Fondre, via the penalty spot.

Elvis Kamsoba was on the end of a good build up play for the home side, to make it 2-0, 21 minutes after the game’s first.

A brace from Sudanese International, Valentino Yuel, meant the Jets walked away with a point.

Olivier Boumal and co are 9th on the table, after harvesting two draws from 3 games so far. Though early days, the Cameroonian International could make a big difference in whatever the objectives of the Jets are, in this season.
