QSLC: Frank Kom Wins R8 For Al Rayyan

Cameroon International, Frank Kom, formerly of Panthere Sportif of Nde, has moved his Qatari club to within six points in group A of Qatar Stars League Cup.

Matchday 8 saw group A leaders, Al Wakrah pay a visit to second seeded Rayyan.

A tight and tense first half it proved to be with five yellow bookings issued out and two of those to were Al Rayyan’s scorers, Frank Kom and Y. Boli.

It was the visitors who snatched the lead one minute to half time through a goal beautifully masterminded by Gelson Dala.

Seven minutes into the second segment saw Laurent Blanc’s half time chats yield fruits as Mouafak Awad and Y. Boli combined perfectly to produce an equalizer.

The battle for superiority raged on with Laurent Blanc and Tintín Marquez effecting tactical subsctions which proved futile.

All seemed not to be over yet when Abdulrahman Al Korbi fed a well positioned Frank Kom who smashed in the winer for Rayyan at home.

Al Rayyan currently occupy 8th spot in the Qatari football league, manage just 9points from 9league games.
