Coach Luciano Spalleti tags The AFCON An ‘Invincible Monster’

In a post-match press conference on Sunday, Napoli coach – Luciano Spalleti, spoke about the participation of some of his players in the 2021 AFCON.

In difficulty during his most recent matches with one win in his last four matches, Napoli has not been in it’s unerring best. This Sunday, Luciano Spalletti’s side got the better of AC Milan, whom they defeated by 1-0 at San Siro on Matchday 18 of Serie A.

An important victory that puts the Italian technician under less pressure for games in the coming weeks.

Indeed, Luciano Spalletti will have to set up without the captain of Senegal Kalidou Koulibaly, Victor Osimhen, Zambo Anguissa and Adam Ounas.

These main players mentioned should join their respective selections in January to participate in AFCON 2021 in Cameroon (January 9-February 6, 2022).

Monumental absences from the current Serie A runnera-up, which naturally will cause some fear amongst his roster.

“We no longer have to think about winning matches like we did a short while ago, without observing what other clubs are doing. The Championship is still very long. There is still this ‘invisible monster’, the African Nations Cup, which takes players from the locker room, without knowing when you will find them, or what to do,” said Spalletti.

And to continue: “We have four players concerned. We are the top team most affected. But if the team has the same involvement as tonight. It will be easier if all players are available and cheering on their teammates, even if they are not playing. “
