Black Stars End Shop For New Coach As Dramani Gets The Nod

Just days prior to their clash against arch rivals Nigeria, The Ghana Football Association has appointed Otto Addo as head coach, and he will be assisted by George Boateng and Didi Dramani, in a decision taken this Wednesday, February 9.

Addo is an EX Black Star and has a wealth of experience as he has been the assistant coach of German outfit – Dortmund.

This comes in contrary to earlier reports that Otto Addo and Ibrahim Tanko were favorites for the Black Stars assistant coaching role with former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton to serve as the head coach.

But upon further deliberations by the Ghana FA Executive Committee, Chris Hughton will now serve as the Black Stars technical advisor with Otto Addo to lead the technical team of Didi Dramani and George Boateng.

Didi Dramani is an experienced Ghanaian tactician who has had stint with Asante Kotoko, Black Queens and just recently with Danish giants FC Nordsjaelland.

George Boateng on the other hand is a Ghanaian born Dutchman who is currently the head coach of Aston Villa U-23 and formerly worked with Blackburn Rovers.

The four man team has been put together to take charge of the two matches against rivals Nigeria.

The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast stadium on March 22 before travelling to Nigeria for the 2nd leg at the Abuja Sports stadium on Sunday, March 28, 2022.
