Toko Ekambi Assists In Lyon’s Draw Away To Lens

After a goal on his return from the AFCON, Karl Toko Ekambi has once again aided his team to a valuable point against Lens in the Ligue 1.

Lyon trailed from the 13th minute when Jonathan Clauss struck to gift Lens the lead. With a minute left in the first half, Toko Ekambi found Kadewere with a delightful ball, that was expertly finished by the Zimbabwean.

It takes Toko Ekambi’s assist tally in the French Ligue 1 to 3, with 6 goals scored in 19 matches played for the French outfit.

A point in those circumstances; being led away from home, in a hostile Stade Bollaert wasn’t that bad of a result for Lyon, but it was a great chance for OL to pull further clear off Lens.

OL are currently in 6th position after 25 matches, with just a single point separating them from 9th placed RC Lens.

Ekambi’s teammate at national team level, Ignatius Ganago – came in for Lens as a second half substitute, but lasted just 5 minutes on the field without much of an impact.
