Zanaco 0-2 Pyramids: Fagrie Lakay’s Brace Enough To Gift Pyramids Victory

The second day in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup, pitted Zanaco FC against Pyramids FC, with Pyramids eventually getting the victory.

The Egyptian representatives snatched a 2-0 victory against a the side stylized ‘Sensational’ Zanaco.

The Egyptians bagged the 3 points thanks to a double from the 24-year-old South African striker, Fagrie Lakay (45th and 84th). The Bafana Bafana international thus joins Mouad Fekkak of RS Berkane, atop the scorers chart. The first part of game was dominated by the Egyptians with a trademark 4-4-2 set up by coach Ehab Jalal. In the last 15 minutes of the first part and during the second period, the Zanaco tried to pick up the pieces, but Pyramids coped well.

The home side had their moments but were sterile in the final third.

It’s a second straight loss for Zanaco and a second consecutive victory for Pyramids. In the group A standings, prior to the meeting between CS Sfaxien and Al Ahli Tripoli FC, Pyramids are leaders with 6 points. CS Sfaxien have 3 points, while Ahli Tripoli and and Zanaco occupy the last two slots with 0 points each.
