Cameroon Completes Double Over Gambia To Book AWCON Ticket

Cameroon’s national women’s football team validated their ticket for the final phase of the 2022 African Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

Cameroon will be in Morocco next July for the final phase of the African Women’s Cup of Nations at the expense of Gambia. After the big victory in Yaoundé (8-0), the Indomitable Lionesses validated their ticket on Wednesday in Banjul.

Already well placed before the second leg of the tie, Aboudi Onguene and her teammates did the essentials by winning 1-2 against Gambia.

The Cameroonians even led 2-0 after goals from captain Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene and Kevin Ossol, before Gambia pecked one back. In total, it was an easy victory for the Indomitable Lionesses who didn’t struggle against the Scorpion Queens.

Cameroon will look to win her first AWCON trophy after several blows underneath the belt from arch rivals Nigeria, in past AWCON series’.
