CAF CL: Esperance de Tunis & Etoile du Sahel Tie For Nothing

Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Etoile Sportif du Sahel separated on a parity (0-0) in one of the all-time classic games in Tunisia, on match day 3 of group C, in the group stage of the CAF Champions League, played on Saturday afternoon in Rades.

The game involved a lot of late drama and had everything for a trademark — old-fashioned derby, but only a goal was lacking. Etoile du Sahel finished with 10 men due to the red card issued to Abdelrazak Bouazra at the 88th minute, but there wasn’t enough time for ES Tunis to make the numerical advantage pay.

Despite the draw, Esperance de Tunis temporarily retains its leadership role in Group C with 5 points, joint top alongside CR Belouizdad from Algeria, who defeated Jwaneng Galaxy 1-2.

Etoile Sahel are placed third with 3 points, but everything still remains possible in this group.
