CAF Confed Cup: USGN Gets The Better Of Asec

Match day 3 in group D of the CAF Confederation Cup, on Sunday 27, opposed Asec Mimosas to the Sporting Union of National Gendarmerie of Niger, with USGN getting an emphatic victory.

Asec Mimosas was beaten 2-0 by the Union Sportive de la Gendarmerie nationale (USGN) of Niger on Sunday, February 27, 2022, in the hotly anticipated match in Niamey.

The match was played at the General Seyni Kountche stadium in the capital and the two goals for USGN goals came in the second half.

Gbeuli Wilfried scored at the 63rd minute and Victorien Adebayor scored on the whistle 90th minute.

The other game in the group saw the victory of Renaissance Sportive Berkane of Morocco over the Simba Sporting Club of Tanzania (2-0). Goals in the other game was scored by Ba Adama at the 32nd minute and Charki El Bahri (41). At the end of the 3rd day in the group, RS Berkane of Morocco leads with 6 points, and occupies the first place.

They are followed by Simba SC and the USGN of Niger who each have 4 points. Asec Mimosas (3 pts) languishes at the bottom.

On day 4, Asec Mimosas will receive the USGN of Niger at the Stade de l’Amitie Mathieu Kerekou in Cotonou, Benin.
