Onana Makes Ajax Return After One Year

Onana was fielded in the Eredivise for the first time since January 31, 2021 when he plaed against AZ Alkmaar.

The Cameroonian international goalkeeper started on Sunday February 27 afternoon in Ajax’s defeat on the patch of Go Ahead Eagles.

In the absence of Remko Pasveer and Jay Gorter, injured, Andre Onana was called upon to keep the cage on match day 24, for the first time since his doping ban ended late last year.

On his return, it wasn’t all that rosey for the 25 year old. Andre Onana was literally exposed by his defenders, and Ajax was led at the break by a 2-0 scoreline.

The second period was better for the Cameroonian who did not concede further. His team reduced the score, without succeeding in levelling up, as it ended 2-1 in favor of Go Ahead Eagles.
