EPL: Joel Matip Voted February POTM

Joel Matip has today been voted Premier League player of the Month of February. Indeed, a wonderful reward for Cameroonian who was unerring with flamboyant statistics.

The 30-year-old has been a key element to the Reds’ defensive solidity alongside Virgil van Dijk since the start of the 2021-2022 season.

The former Schalke 04 player made four league appearances in the second month of the 2022 calendar year, contributing in three clean sheets for the men of Jürgen Klopp.

Joel Matip even scored in that time against Leicester, in Liverpool’s 2-0 win on February 10.

Matip beat the likes of Che Adams, Ryan Fraser, Harry Kane, Ben Mee and Wilfried Zaha to clinch the personal accolade.
