Cotonsport vs Mazambe: Frank Dumas Not ‘Marvelled’ By Roumde Adjia

Former French footballer and now TP Mazembe gaffer Franck Dumas has maintained that the mentality of ‘home and away’ games are things of the past.

It was on the occasion of the pre match press conference ritual for match day four of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The 54 year old thinks players should always know that these games are played on same turf, with the same number of players on the pitch.

‘We have to wipe out that home and away mentality,’ the EX Equatorial Guinea coach opined, before adding that he really doesn’t care about history, as regards the 2008 results which saw Cotonsport defeating Mazembe 1-0 in Garoua.

‘2008 was a long time ago and it has no consequences on us. Our preparations wouldn’t change, and we’d just need to keep a tough mentality.’

Dumas and his TP Mazembe side are just where they want; top in group C of the CAF Confederations Cup with 6 points, and even a parity score, might get the two – time Confederations Cup winners – dancing back to Congo.

There is some good news for Dumas and TP, as they welcome some players back from injury including 30 year old Kabaso Chongo, who was equally at the press conference.
