WCQ: Jeando Fuchs, Kevin Soni Make Song’s 25 To Pit Algeria

After great performances lined up for his new club Peterborough FC, Jeando Fuchs has been recalled to the Lions’ squad for the first time since 2018, in view of Cameroon’s WC qualifiers tie against Algeria.

The 24 year old midfeilder who occasionally fills up in the right back position, was voted MOTM against Manchester City in the 5th round of the FA Cup, and followed that up with an assist against Stoke City in the English championship. He has previously played twice for team Cameroon.

Making his triumphant entry in the Lions den equally is Kevin Soni. The youngster once worked with Rigobert Song at the U23 level, and there was no doubt his performances were going to lift him to a senior debut soonest.

Kevin Soni has made a name for him self at the Greek Super League with Asteras Tripolis, where he has scored 6 goals and delivered 2 assists in 23 games.

He has been on the radar of the national team from the time of Antonio Conceiçao, having been pre selected for the AFCON, but slightly missing out on the tourney finals.

Other new names include: Gael ondoa, Olivier Ntcham, and teenage sensation – Wassou Goue of Cotonsport.

Goalkeeper Ondoa has been left out despite his new start at FK Auda. Old guards like Njie Clinton and Christian Bassogog have been momentarily excused from the team.

Full-back Sacha Boey will have to wait a little longer to get rolling with the Lions, with Mbaizo and Fai being preferred at that spot for now.
