CAF CL: Wydad Defeats Sagrada From One Down

Wydad of Casablanca won on the road against Angola reps. Sagrada Esperança courtesy a 2-1 scoreline on Saturday evening at the November 11 stadium in Luanda, on match day 5 of Group D in the CAF champions league.

Jó Paciência opened the scoring for Sagrada Esperança in the 30th minute, before Zouhair El Moutaraji leveled matters eight minutes from regulation time.

In added time (90+5), Juvhel Tsoumou gifted the victory to WAC with a late winner.

The men of Walid Regragui’s already ensured their qualification to the quarter-finals after their victory away to Zamalek (1-0) and Petro’s 3-0 win at home against Sagrada Esperança on match day four.

In the other match of this group, played earlier, Zamalek and Petro Luanda separated on a parity.

At the end of the match day, the WAC takes control with 12 points, ahead of Petro Luanda (already qualified) with 11 points. Zamalek is third (3 pts), followed by Sagrada Esperança (4th / 1 pt).

On match day 6, scheduled for March 31, Wydad will host Petro Luanda, while Sagrada Esperança will travel to Egypt to play against Zamalek.
